Brief abstract
This course provides an in-depth exploration of the principles, theories, and applications of electromagnetics at an advanced level. Emphasis is placed on fundamental theorems, and analytical and numerical methods for solving Maxwell’s equations in diverse environments, exploring both theoretical approaches and practical applications. The goal is to train students to apply mathematical and computational techniques for solving complex electromagnetic problems, equipping them with the tools needed for innovation in fields reliant on electromagnetic principles.
Green’s functions
◦ Sturm-Liouville problems
◦ Green’s function of the Helmholtz equation
◦ Dyadic Green’s functions
Numerical Methods
◦ Method of Moments: formulation and examples of application
◦ Finite Element Method: formulation and examples of application
◦ Finite Difference in Time Domain: formulation and examples of application
